Kia Ireland Partnership: Connecting People to Their Communities

For many people supported by St John of God Community Services, access to reliable transport is essential for everyday life. Attending day services, participating in community activities, attending appointments and maintaining social connections often depend on having safe and dependable transport available.

Through the support of the St John of God Foundation’s Better Lives Programme and Kia Ireland, new Kia Sportage vehicles were introduced across Community Services’ regions to improve accessibility and enhance the experience of the people who rely on these services every day.

The addition of the vehicles has significantly strengthened transportation capacity, helping services respond more efficiently to the needs of people they support. Reliable transport means fewer barriers to participation, greater flexibility in planning activities and increased opportunities for individuals to engage with their local communities. It also enables staff to support people to access a wider range of educational, recreational and social opportunities.

The investment in new vehicles represents more than an upgrade to a transport fleet; it is an investment in independence, inclusion and quality of life for over 2,000 that we support. Having dependable vehicles gives people and their families confidence that they can access services consistently, maintain routines and participate more fully in the activities and experiences that matter most to them.

Every journey represents an opportunity, whether it is attending a day programme, meeting friends, learning a new skill or participating in the wider community. Thanks to the support of Kia Ireland and the Foundation, hundreds of people supported by St John of God Community Services now have greater access to the people, places and experiences that help them live better lives.
