About SJOG Group
SJOG Foundation is part of the St John of God Group (SJOG Group) which is led by St John of God Hospitaller Services Group (SJOG HSG) and includes six other subsidiary companies. Together, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live a life of dignity, purpose, belonging and hope. SJOG Group is a family of charities and social enterprises working across Ireland, the UK and Malawi to support people and communities to thrive. Rooted in the values and legacy of St John of God, we provide health, social care, education, housing, research, fundraising and international development services that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day.
Our work touches lives in many different ways. It may be helping a child communicate for the first time, supporting a person to recover from mental ill health, enabling someone with a disability to live independently in their own home, advancing research that improves care, or creating opportunities for communities facing disadvantage. Whatever the service, our focus is always the same: supporting people to reach their full potential and live the life they choose.
While our organisations each have their own specialist expertise, they are united by a shared purpose and a common belief in the value and potential of every human being. Together, we are stronger, able to learn from one another, respond to emerging needs and create lasting impact in the communities we serve.
Part of a Global Family
SJOG Group is proud to be part of the wider international St John of God family, a global movement of care, compassion and hospitality that has been transforming lives for more than 450 years. Today, St John of God organisations work across dozens of countries, supporting millions of people through healthcare, social care, education, disability services, humanitarian programmes and community development initiatives.
Being part of this worldwide family means we are connected to something much bigger than ourselves. It means sharing knowledge, innovation and expertise with organisations around the world. It means standing together to advocate for those whose voices are often unheard. Most importantly, it means being part of a global community committed to creating a more compassionate, inclusive and just society.
One Family, One Shared Mission
Today, SJOG Group brings together organisations that support people across every stage of life:
- Community and disability services that promote independence, inclusion and wellbeing.
- Specialist mental health services that support recovery and hope.
- Schools that help children and young people realise their potential.
- Housing initiatives that provide safe, accessible homes.
- Research that improves lives and informs better care.
- Fundraising programmes that create opportunities beyond statutory funding.
- International development work that supports vulnerable communities and promotes social justice.
Guided by Hospitality, Compassion and Respect
Everything we do is shaped by three enduring values:
Hospitality
Hospitality means creating places where people feel welcomed, safe and included.
Compassion
Compassion means responding with kindness, understanding and genuine care.
Respect
Respect means recognising the unique dignity, rights and potential of every person.
These values guide how we deliver services, how we work with one another and how we build relationships with the people and communities we support.
Building Better Lives Together
Across Ireland, UK and Malawi, thousands of people encounter the SJOG Group every day. They are children learning new skills, people finding a place to call home, individuals recovering their confidence and independence, families receiving support when they need it most, and communities becoming stronger and more inclusive.
This is the impact of our work. Not simply the services we provide, but the opportunities we create, the potential we unlock and the lives we help transform.
Together, as one family and part of a global mission, we continue the tradition of St John of God by responding to human need with hospitality, compassion and respect, helping to build a future where everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute and flourish.
